Scope

Applications for doctoral thesis award; Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Doctoral Thesis Award is accepted and evaluated in line with the rules specified in the Procedures and Principles.

Application Requirements for Active Doctoral Thesis Award Announcement

As of the application call period, in the last three semesters (2021-2022 Fall, 2021-2022 Spring and 2022-2023 Fall); Candidates who graduated from doctoral programs in the Departments of the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences can apply. (For the thesis-related activities during the doctoral thesis and within 1 year after the doctorate graduation date, the activities after 1 year are not scored).

Application Deadline: Friday, February 10, 2023 / 17:00 (Application system closes at the specified date/time)

Application Process:

Applications for the PhD Thesis Award are accepted online. Documents to be uploaded to the application system:

1) Application form

2) Activity Evaluation Table

3) Works produced from the student's doctoral thesis (with proof documents)

4) Electronic copy of the thesis (in PDF format + YÖKSİS access information)

Evaluation and Award Ceremony:

After being evaluated the applications for the PhD Thesis Award by the Graduate Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences - Award Evaluation Commission, the candidates are ranked according to their success score and presented to the Institute's Board of Directors. In which fields and how many people the award will be given in the year in which it will be given, is determined by the University Administrative Board upon the recommendation of the Institute Administrative Board. Successful doctoral thesis award is presented to the candidates and doctoral thesis advisors approved by the University Administrative Board at the KTU Foundation Anniversary Ceremony, which is held on 20 May every year. As a reward, a gift and/or plaque determined by the management is given.
