KTU Technology Transfer Application and Research Centre held a training on ‘Intellectual Industrial Property Rights and Protection Processes’ for academicians of Trabzon University. The training was attended by KTU TTC staff, Lecturer Kerim Sönmez participated as an invited speaker.

Within the scope of the training, the processes of identifying, protecting and commercialising the intellectual property elements arising from the research and development activities of academicians were discussed. Kerim Sönmez provided detailed information about the differentiated technical studies that need to be done in order for existing research to result in patents. In particular, national and international patent application processes, utility model applications and other intellectual property protection tools were emphasised.
