About the Program

The program aims to provide necessary occupational health and safety information for engineers, architects and technicians wanting to work as occupational health and safety expert to fulfil the duties defined in the related legislation. The program depends upon the Regulation for the Terms and Condition of Occupational Health and Safety Training published by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security on the 24th of May 2018 in the Official Gazette:

Article 7: Except for the basic training that will be given for the first time in the workplace, the basic training to be given to the employees again can be provided by using the distance education method, providing that the content specific to the job, necessary distance education management system and the workplace is prepared by the employer.

In this sense, the Distance Education Application and Research Center provides Occupational Health and Safety training for employees.

Eligibility Criteria

Engineers, architects, or technical staff who want to become occupational safety specialists can participate in the OHS Basic Training Certificate Program.

Application

The workflow from the application process to Occupational Health and Safety Training to the completion of the training is carried out by following the steps:

  • Participants apply to the related departments.
  • Relevant departments send the received applications to KTU UZEM with a cover letter by filling in the Form-1 specified in the Forms.
  • Also, after adding Form-1 as a file attachment, it should be sent to ktuisgtesp@gmail.com as an e-mail.
  • Student login information submitted by the department secretaries are introduced to the system by KTU DEARC.
  • After the students log in to the system, they follow the online courses.
  •  The students who are successful at the end of the online exam are entitled to receive a certificate.
