a) In order to complete their provisional registration, candidates must pay the tuition fees for the Fall semester of the 2025-2026 academic year. (Except for students graduating from high schools listed in this section and those who will be studying Turkish Language Preparatory Program.)

b) Tuition fees for 2025-2026 are determined by our University's Board of Directors, taking into account the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette each July, and are published at https://www.ktu.edu.tr/oidb/uluslararasiogrenci. (If provisional registrations are made before the publication of the Presidential Decree, candidates will pay the previous year's tuition fee. However, students will be charged the difference after the 2025-2026 tuition fee is announced.)

NOTE: You can only pay your tuition fees through Vakıfbank ATMs, Vakıfbank online banking, or by clicking the link https://harc.ktu.edu.tr/.

c) A 25% discount on tuition fees will be applied to multiple students from the same family who continue their education at public higher education institutions, provided that both the student and their family have a residence permit in Turkey.

d) The English Preparatory Class Level Determination and Proficiency (Exemption) Exams will be held on September 15-17, 2025. Click for detailed information.

e) Undergraduate/Associate degree 1st Year Common Compulsory English Course Exemption Exam (for students of departments without a preparatory class) will be held on October 1, 2025. Click for detailed information.

f) The Turkish Proficiency (TYS) Exam will be held on September 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Students must arrive at the TÖMER center 45 minutes before the exam. They must have their passports, or if they don't have a passport, their ID, with them for the exam. Click for more information.

g) Turkish language training, exams, and certification activities outside of Turkey are provided by the Yunus Emre Foundation. The exam is held at Cultural Centers affiliated with the Yunus Emre Institute, established by the Foundation.

The application dates for the third Turkish Proficiency Exam to be held in 2025 are July 28–August 22, and the exam will be held on September 21, 2025.or detailed information.

h) Candidates are not required to upload their Equivalency and Turkish Proficiency Documents during the provisional registration process. They can submit their Equivalency Documents to the International Student Office by October 21, 2025.

Documents to be Uploaded for Online (Temporary Registration):

1. Equivalency certificate proving completion of a secondary education equivalent to a Turkish high school, if available (Turkish citizens who graduated from schools abroad not affiliated with the Ministry of National Education or from international schools in Turkey must upload this document).

2. Document proving at least B2 level Turkish, if available (This document will not be required for students who graduated from high schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Turkey or whose programs are 100% English or Russian).

3. An internationally recognized proof of financial situation (bank statement, etc.) demonstrating financial means to pursue higher education, along with a Financial Situation Declaration Form (to be uploaded as a single PDF).

 

B. FINAL REGISTRATION

a) Students who have completed their provisional registration must bring the originals (originals) and certified Turkish translations of the following documents to the International Student Office of the Student Affairs Department by October 21, 2025, at the latest, to complete their final registration.

Warning: Candidates who are placed in a program where the language of instruction is 100% Turkish and who do not have a "Turkish Proficiency Certificate" (TÖMER) will be able to make their final registration after taking the TÖMER exemption exam.

b) To register to the Maritime Transportation Management Engineering (30% English, undergraduate), Marine Engineering Management Engineering (undergraduate) and Marine Engineering Management (associate degree) Programs, a Seafarer Health Report is required, and to complete the internship of the Program, a Seafarer's Booklet is required. (Seafarer's badges, which are documents that replace passports, can only be issued to citizens of the Republic of Turkey or to citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus who have studied and/or graduated from maritime education in the Republic of Turkey or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus or to foreigners of Turkish origin who are covered by the Law No. 2527 dated 25/09/1981 on Foreigners of Turkish Origin being able to freely practice their professions and arts in Turkey and to be employed in public, private institutions or workplaces. Foreign citizens who are studying/will study in associate and undergraduate programs related to maritime in higher education institutions in our country as citizens have the right to take proficiency certificate exams as a result of their maritime education and can also issue educational documents in accordance with the education they have received. However, seafarer's badges cannot be issued to foreign nationals. Foreign nationals must request a seafarer's badge from their country of citizenship. Therefore, since some countries do not issue a seafarer's badge to female students, they should check with the relevant authorities of their own country before making their selections as to whether they can obtain a seafarer's badge. It will be to their advantage to learn.)

c) Students placed in the Pharmacy Program must submit a health report, along with their registration documents, at the time of final registration, stating that they have no health conditions that would prevent them from pursuing their pharmacy education.

d) For students who will register, the residence permits of those residing in Turkey, the visas of those coming from abroad to enroll at our University, and the legal stay in Turkey of those arriving without a visa must not have expired. Otherwise, final registration will not be accepted.

e) For students who will obtain a passport, it will be beneficial for them to extend the validity of their passports during the residence permit period.

f) Students who cannot come to our University for final registration can register with a notarized power of attorney.

g) International students who come to Turkey for education and training can apply for General Health Insurance (GSS) by going to the Social Security Institution (SGK) within three months of their date of entry. Those who have exceeded three months are not eligible for GSS.

Documents Required for Final Registration:

1. Passport or ID

2. Exam Result Document

3. Secondary Education (High School) Graduation Certificate

4. Secondary Education Grade Point Average (Transcript)

5. Blue Card (Required for applicants who have renounced Turkish citizenship and received a Blue Card.)

6. Certified Population Registration Copy (Required for applicants who are Turkish citizens, have renounced Turkish citizenship, or have renounced Turkish citizenship and received a Blue Card.)

7. Dual-citizen candidates who are Turkish citizens and Turkish citizens by birth who have graduated or will graduate from an institution providing formal education abroad, excluding the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), or from open education programs abroad, must submit a certified document from their school proving that they completed their entire secondary education abroad, along with police or passport records showing their entry and exit to Turkey.

8. Equivalency certificate proving completion of a secondary education equivalent to a Turkish high school (mandatory for Turkish citizens who completed their secondary education abroad and international schools in Turkey that are not affiliated with the Ministry of National Education).

9. If available, a document proving at least B2 level Turkish proficiency (This document will not be required for students who graduated from high schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Turkey or whose program language is 100% English or Russian)

10. Residence Certificate (This document is issued by official authorities to applicants who are TRNC citizens and apply with GCE AL exam results, certifying residence in the TRNC.)

11. Piş Danişgahi Certificate (Required for those who graduated from general and vocational high schools (Debiristan, Hüneristan, Kar, and Daniş) in Iran by the end of the 2017-2018 academic year).
