The mission of the department, which was determined in the meetings held with the participation of internal and external stakeholders working in the relevant commissions of the department, is as follows:

• To provide undergraduate and graduate students with the education required by geomatics engineering and to ensure that they are educated as graduates with qualifications equivalent to their international colleagues,
• To contribute to the development of the profession and science by conducting qualified and original research and publications,
• To develop policies in line with the interests of the country by following international developments in professional issues,
• To produce solutions to the problems of our country and our environment related to the profession,
• To train academic staff needed by universities and public institutions.
