Karadeniz Technical University adopts sustainable development principles as one of the fundamental components of its institutional governance approach and transparently shares its activities in the fields of education, research, community engagement, and environmental responsibility with the public in line with the principles of transparency and accountability. In this context, the university regularly publishes an annual Sustainability Report in order to monitor, evaluate, and communicate its sustainability-related activities and performance to its stakeholders.

The Sustainability Reports prepared annually provide comprehensive information regarding the university’s sustainability vision, institutional structure, strategic objectives, performance indicators, and implementation processes. The reports also include detailed information on environmental sustainability initiatives, energy and resource efficiency practices, climate action efforts, sustainable campus applications, scientific research activities, community engagement projects, student-centered initiatives, and activities carried out within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Karadeniz Technical University approaches sustainability not only as an environmental issue but also as a holistic development perspective encompassing economic, social, and governance dimensions. In this regard, the Sustainability Reports contribute to making the university’s sustainability practices more visible while also supporting the monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement of institutional development processes.
