PRE-GRADUATION EDUCATION PROCESS (UNDERGRADUATE): Dental education covers a period of 5 years together with basic sciences education. During the five years of education, students are trained both theoretically and practically. Since it is important to gain skills in dentistry, practice is emphasized in education. Education is generally divided into two parts:
- Basic sciences, professional sciences, pre-clinical education and their applications are carried out in the first three years to prepare students for the clinic. In basic dentistry education, students are given basic science courses and basic medical courses to obtain the title of physician. In addition to these courses, they also take courses that will improve their manual skills and learn oral and dental morphology by practicing. In the last three years of education, vocational theoretical courses and practical applications gain weight. In the 3rd year, in addition to theoretical courses and practical applications, students also take courses as observers in the clinic.
- Clinical application starts from the 4th grade and in the 4th and 5th grades, the education consists of two parts as clinical practice and theoretical.
POST-GRADUATION EDUCATION PROCESS (SPECIALISATION): The student who wants to specialise must first pass a certain threshold score from the foreign language exam (YDS, YÖKDİL, TIPDİL). Students who pass the foreign language exam are eligible to take the DUS exam. As a result of the exam held in September and April, he/she prefers one of the 8 main disciplines of our Faculty with the DUS ranking and if he/she is placed, he/she starts his/her speciality education. Speciality education lasts 3-4 years depending on the department. In speciality, practice is more weighted. The student who completes his speciality is given the title of Specialist Dentist.
