continuous improvement

1. Regulation on the Educational Objectives of the Program

The incompatibility between the university information package and the program's website was corrected. Besides, necessary updates were made in line with the suggestions of the stakeholders in the stakeholder meetings.

2. Use of Testing and Evaluation System Data

Students complete surveys used in the testing and evaluation system every semester. The results of the surveys are published periodically on the department website (/insaat/anketsonuclari) and examined and kept by the relevant faculty member/staff.

In addition, new student surveys continue to be conducted at the beginning of each semester, and the socio-economic evaluation of the students is evaluated within the department.

Efforts are made to increase the participation of graduated students in alumni surveys, and the database containing students’ contact information is expanded (/insaat/graduates).

In employer/stakeholder surveys, efforts are underway to increase the rate of participation in surveys.

The surveys conducted in our program are given below:

- Alumni Survey

- Employer/Stakeholder Survey

- New Student Survey

- Graduation Survey

- Internship Survey

3. Regulation on Course Programs

A large collection of elective courses has been created to appeal to students' interests. In this direction, elective courses have been increased to 52. Students will be able to choose 13 courses from this elective course table, 9 of which are departmental and 4 of which are university elective courses.

4. Developments in Academic Staff

Each field of study in our department has a sufficient number of faculty members for today, despite the retirement of many of our faculty members. However, new faculty members are also joining our staff to further strengthen the Departments. Strengthening the staff will not only strengthen the programs, but will also have a positive impact on research and development activities. For this purpose, in addition to the internal recruitment of new faculty members, efforts are also made to recruit external faculty members trained in different disciplines.

5. Developments in Laboratory Facilities

As a result of the studies carried out, with the help of scientific project budgets and the support of our university, many important devices, such as an uniaxial shaking table with a capacity of 40 tons, have been added to our laboratories. All other developments in laboratory facilities will be presented during your visit.

6. Developments in the Field of Scientific Projects

The faculty members of our department have achieved and/or applied for many scientific research projects (BAP, TUBITAK) support in recent years. In some projects, joint studies have been carried out with other departments of our university and in some projects with faculty members from different universities. The contents of the projects applied for and/or supported in the last three years are being prepared and are intended to be presented during our department visit.

7. Developments in National and/or International Scientific Publications

The faculty staff of our department (faculty members, lecturers, research assistants, etc.) have contributed many scientific studies to the national and/or international scientific literature in recent years. Especially with the effect of the new appointment criteria, the theoretical and experimental studies are rapidly converted into publications, and these studies contribute to interdisciplinary originality. The contents of the scientific studies (national and/or papers, articles, etc.) produced by the faculty members of our department in the last three years are being prepared and it is aimed to present the relevant files during our department visit.

8. Developments in the Field of Competitions

The students studying at our department have been participating in national and international competitions for many years and have determined areas to apply their theoretical knowledge and thus developed their design, analysis, and manufacturing skills. The success and experience gained from these competitions have attracted more students’ attention.  The necessary financial support for students' participation in the competitions is provided by our university, the dean's office, the department chairmanship, and stakeholders such as chamber representatives and engineers working in the free market. The teams participating in the competition are provided with consultancy services by faculty members and research assistants of our department, which has ended with many degrees. The competition awards obtained in the last five years are listed below.
