Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) was represented at the European University Association (EUA) 2026 Annual Conference which is one of the most prestigious organizations in the European Higher Education Area. KTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, Vice Rector responsible for International Relations Prof. Dr. Ali Temiz and General Coordinator of International Relations Prof. Dr. Sercan Erol attended the conference, hosted by Yeditepe University in Istanbul on April 16-17, 2026. During the conference, the KTU delegation participated in sessions focused on EUA’s priority topics, such as the future of higher education, digital transformation, green campus initiatives and research strategies. The delegation held bilateral meetings with rectors from numerous European universities and stakeholder representatives, evaluating new collaboration opportunities in line with KTU’s internationalization vision.

The European University Association (EUA) influences decision-making processes by ensuring that the voice of universities across Europe is heard on international platforms. Providing unique expertise and a vast network, the association guides the strategic development of universities and continues to contribute to the academic world through periodic conferences and publications. Representing universities and national rectors' conferences in 48 European countries, the EUA is a key actor in shaping EU policies on higher education, research, and innovation. Playing a critical role in the Bologna Process, the association provided an international platform at this year's annual conference to encourage the exchange of ideas and good practices among member universities.
