Our department hosted an international academic event on October 21, 2025. Thanks to the initiative of our faculty member, Dr. Özgenç AKIN, Assistant Professor Dr. Handoyo HANDOYO and Associate Dean of the Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sena MAULANA, from the Sumatera Institute of Technology (ITERA) in Indonesia visited our faculty. Our Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ferdi CİHANGİR, also attended the event.

During this visit, Assist. Prof. Dr. Handoyo HANDOYO gave a seminar entitled “Potential Geological Carbon Capture Storage in Sumatra: From Sediment to Igneous Rock Potentials” .
