The Geophysics Engineering Department of Karadeniz Technical University organized a ceremony to express gratitude and appreciation for Prof. Dr. Kenan Gelişli , one of its esteemed academics who has served with dedication for many years, upon his retirement.

A ceremony was held in the Prof. Dr. Ömer Alptekin Amphitheater to honor Prof. Dr. Kenan Gelişli, who made significant contributions to the development of our department and the scientific knowledge of our university throughout his 41-year academic career. The ceremony was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı , the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, academic and administrative staff, and students.

In a speech delivered on behalf of the Department of Geophysical Engineering, it was emphasized that Prof. Dr. Gelişli played a pioneering role in shaping the department's academic identity and guided numerous studies through his contributions to research and education. 

At the end of the ceremony, Professor Dr. Kenan Gelişli was presented with a plaque and flowers in recognition of his valuable contributions to our university and to science over many years . Attendees wished him a retirement filled with health, happiness, and peace.

As the Geophysics Engineering Department family of Karadeniz Technical University, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our esteemed professor, Prof. Dr. Kenan Gelişli, whom we will always remember for his exemplary character as well as his scientific work, and we wish him success and well-being in his future life.
