Two protocols for social contribution
The protocol signing ceremony for disaster awareness, in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of National Education, was held in the meeting hall of the Rectorate Building. The Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, representatives from the KTU Landslide Application and Research Center, and a delegation representing the Provincial Directorate of National Education attended the ceremony. The protocol was signed by the KTU Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, and the Trabzon Provincial Director of National Education, Hüseyin Burak FettahoÄŸlu.
The signed protocol aims to provide educational training for secondary school teachers on natural disasters in collaboration between the Trabzon Provincial Directorate of National Education and the KTU Landslide Application and Research Center Directorate. It also intends to provide informative and awareness-raising activities for primary school students through disaster awareness training. KTU, which acts with sensitivity towards increasing society's awareness of natural disasters, will coordinate the academics who will provide the training, determine the training topics, design and develop training materials, create an activity schedule for the annual work program, and adjust the work schedule without disrupting the schools' activities within the scope of this protocol.
Education and Cooperation Protocol between KTU and Trabzon Provincial Police Department
Another protocol signed between the KTU Women's Studies Application and Research Center and the Trabzon Provincial Police Department aims to raise awareness of our students, academic and administrative staff about potential violent incidents and to provide information and awareness activities to prevent substance addiction and other harmful habits in accordance with the needs of the era.
Regional Effects of the 'Violence' Phenomenon will be Scientifically Investigated
Within the scope of this protocol, the operations and procedures to be carried out by the Provincial Police Department are stated as follows: expert personnel assigned by the Provincial Police Department will provide information and awareness training seminars on the specified topics to KTU staff and students. The Trabzon Provincial Police Department will provide expert speakers on the topics of Combatting Violence Against Women, Combating Narcotic Crimes, and Combating Cyber Crimes to promote projects included in the scope of this protocol for science, sports, and cultural events organized by KTU and its students. The protocol also includes scientific research about the regional effects of the 'violence' phenomenon through joint studies by the KTU Women's Studies Application and Research Center and the Provincial Police Department, and the results and impacts will be published in a joint report every three years, which is part of our University's responsibility area as stated in the protocol. Within this scope, a protocol, including the Project to Combat Violence Against Women, the Narcotics Crime Project, and the Cybercrime Control Project, was signed by KTU Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, and Trabzon Provincial Police Director, Murat Esertürk.
