A team assigned by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) conducted an Interim Evaluation visit to our University as part of the Institutional Accreditation Program.

According to THEQC regulations, accredited universities undergo an interim evaluation process in their second year. Our University, which received "5-Year Full Accreditation" on 25.5.2022, has completed this interim evaluation process. On July 16-17, 2024, after meetings held with the University Quality Commission, Senate Members, and various academic/administrative units, the Interim Evaluation Team of the Institutional Accreditation Program visited our University Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, in his office.

"Guiding for Us"

During the visit, the quality of education, administrative structure, and institutional processes of Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) were thoroughly evaluated. In a statement made by the team, it was emphasized that this evaluation process is crucial for reviewing the current status of KTU and taking steps for future improvements. Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı thanked the THEQC evaluation team and stated, "As KTU, our aim is to continuously improve the quality of our education and research. Evaluations conducted by THEQC are guiding for us."

The visit concluded after an exchange of views on the details of the matter. In the report that the THEQC Evaluation Team will prepare in the coming days, they will include the strengths of our University and the areas that need improvement. This report will be decisive in whether Karadeniz Technical University will continue its "5-Year Full Accreditation" process.
