Our University Rises Four Places in the 2025?2026 URAP Rankings, Maintaining Its Strong Performance
Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) has achieved a remarkable success in the 2025–2026 University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Türkiye Rankings.
Following a comprehensive evaluation based on various performance indicators, our University rose four places compared to the previous year, securing the 20th position with a score of 867.14, further strengthening its place among Türkiye’s leading Research Universities.
Developed by the Informatics Institute of Middle East Technical University (METU), URAP evaluates higher education institutions using objective criteria such as the number of publications, citation impact, number of PhD graduates, student-to-faculty ratio, and international collaboration.
KTU’s strong performance this year was primarily driven by its increasing academic productivity and research excellence. The University’s article score rose from 134.49 to 143.63, citation score from 136.74 to 137.43, scientific document score from 133.27 to 136.17, PhD score from 127.48 to 127.98, and faculty-to-student score from 63.55 to 64.95. These indicators reflect KTU’s steady progress in expanding its research capacity and enhancing academic quality.
One of the most notable improvements was in the TÜBİTAK project score, which increased significantly from 27.55 to 130.21, highlighting KTU’s growing ability to secure national research funding and develop high-impact projects.
Commenting on this achievement, Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah ÇUVALCI emphasized that the result reflects KTU’s sustained commitment to scientific productivity, project development, and internationalization. He added that the University will continue to strengthen its strategic initiatives to further enhance academic performance and maintain its trajectory of excellence in the coming years.
