KTU Students Continue Their Success at TEKNOFEST 2026
Our students, who carry out their activities under the coordination of our University’s Technology Competitions Office, continue to demonstrate sustained achievement through top rankings in various competitions held as part of TEKNOFEST 2026.
In this context, the NeutronAI Team, which carries out its activities under the KTU Technology Competitions Office, placed third in Türkiye in the “Robotic System Design” category of the Nuclear Energy Technologies Design Competition. In the same competition, the Reactsoft Team placed fourth, while the KTU Uzay ANKA Team finished fifth in the International Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Competition held as part of TEKNOFEST.
The NeutronAI Team, which stood out by placing third in Türkiye in the “Robotic System Design” category of the Nuclear Energy Technologies Design Competition, brings together 11 students from different engineering disciplines. The team members who achieved third place were Elif Yaren ÅžAKAR, İremnaz DEVECİ, Zübeyde TOKÅžEN, İlay Eylül BATMAZ, YiÄŸithan AYTAÇ, Elifsu SINDIRGILI, Yakup Sinan GEDİKLİ, Hasan ÅžEKERCİ, Betül YALÇIN, Sudenaz BAYRAK, and Bilgenur DEMİREL.
Building on their success from the previous year, the Reactsoft Team maintained its high-level performance by securing fourth place in the "Application Category - Robotic System Design" at the 2026 Nuclear Energy Technologies Design Competition, held at the TENMAK Küçükçekmece Campus between September 1–4, 2026. Supervised by Lecturer Abdullah HaÅŸim ATINÇ, the team consists of team captain Abdulkadir GÜRBÜZ, a student in the Artificial Intelligence Operator Program (Department of Electronics and Automation), and Mert KAYA, a student in the Digital Transformation Electronics Program within the same department.
The KTU Uzay ANKA Team, which placed fifth in the International Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Competition held as part of TEKNOFEST, stood out for its technical capabilities and effective teamwork throughout the competition, bringing together students from different disciplines. The team finished fifth in the International Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Competition, organized by TÜBİTAK at Malatya Tulga Airport from September 8 to 13, 2026. The achievements attained as part of TEKNOFEST 2026 reflect the tangible outcomes of our University’s practice-oriented approach to education and project-based working culture. Together with the rankings achieved by our students across different categories, these accomplishments demonstrate that this approach has evolved into a sustainable institutional framework. The Fırtına Creatiny Team, composed of our students, becoming the Turkish champion in the Hyperloop Development Competition for the third consecutive time, along with the K-TECH Team receiving the “Most Original Design Award,” clearly demonstrates that sustained success has become an integral part of our institutional culture.
