Black Sea Technology and Innovation Day Investor Meetings-II Held Successfully
“Black Sea Technology and Innovation Day Investor Meetings-II,” organized under the coordination of our university’s Technology Transfer Application and Research Center, was hosted by the BeÅŸikdüzü Organized Industrial Zone. The event brought together the public sector, universities, and the business world, contributing to the regional innovation ecosystem. The program was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, BeÅŸikdüzü District Governor Ferhat Vardar, Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Erkut Çelebi, Director of KTU Technology Transfer Application and Research Center Lecturer Emrah Ayvaz, along with investors, academics, entrepreneurs, and business representatives.
The event began with an opening ceremony and protocol speeches. In his opening address, our Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı greeted the participants and emphasized the importance of transforming knowledge into economic value. Prof. Dr. Çuvalcı stated: “Knowledge gains meaning to the extent that it can be transformed into value. Every idea emerging within universities reveals its true power when it connects with industry, meets investors, and progresses with an entrepreneurial spirit.”
He noted that such meetings are a concrete manifestation of collective intelligence and emphasized that the event strengthens a culture of sustainable collaboration. Following the opening, Dr. Ercüment Öztürk delivered a presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence Usage in Business and Opportunities,” addressing the transformative impact of artificial intelligence in the business world. In the afternoon session, SME Expert KürÅŸat Mazlum delivered an informative presentation on KOSGEB support programs, explaining support mechanisms for entrepreneurs and businesses.
Technology Stands Visited and Investor Meetings Continued Throughout the Day
After the presentations, participants visited technology stands and had the opportunity to examine patented technologies, R&D projects, and entrepreneurial ideas developed within our university. Investment and entrepreneurship platforms such as Decacorn Angels, FonKolay, In4Startup, and ŞirketOrtağım shared insights and experience with participants regarding investment processes, scaling, and access to finance. Investor meetings continued throughout the day. Technologies and entrepreneurial projects developed by our university were brought together with investors, and concrete collaboration opportunities were evaluated.
In the program, which gained special significance within the scope of World Intellectual Property Day, it was stated that the production-, protection-, and commercialization-oriented approach contributes to the regional R&D capacity. As a continuation of the first meeting held last year at Arsin Organized Industrial Zone, the event was noted to have deepened established relations, strengthened trust, and made the culture of co-production more sustainable. Rector Prof. Dr. Çuvalcı stated that transferring university-developed technologies to the field is one of the most concrete indicators of transforming knowledge into added value. The program concluded with a final visit to the technology stands at the end of the day. Participants evaluated the event not only as a promotional platform but also as a strategic meeting point where direct collaborations were developed.
All contributing institutions and stakeholders were thanked for their support.
