An Innovative Initiative for Our Students!
The Social Transcript System, launched by our university to make students’ academic achievements as well as their social, cultural, and professional development more visible, has attracted significant interest since its introduction. Coordinated by our university's Teaching and Learning Center (Ö-MER), the system enables students to record extracurricular activities they participate in throughout their studies, both within and outside the university. Following the required evaluation and approval processes, activities related to social, cultural, scientific, sports, and career development are officially included in students’ social transcripts. The Social Transcript System allows students to systematically document their extracurricular achievements, showcase their individual competencies, and obtain an official social transcript approved by the university. It also helps students build a strong portfolio that they can use in their future academic and professional careers after graduation.
Developed in line with the Council of Higher Education’s initiatives focusing on students’ micro-credentials, the system serves as an important reference tool that reflects the evolving meaning of the diploma in response to the demands of the modern era. By recognizing competencies acquired beyond the classroom, it adds a new dimension of value to the higher education experience. Rather than limiting student development to academic success alone, the system supports a competency-based approach to education and stands out as one of the university's innovative practices aimed at strengthening the profile of its graduates. Thanks to the Social Transcript System, our graduates enter today’s competitive job market with more than just a diploma. Their degree represents not only academic achievement but also a certified record of the competencies and skills they have continuously developed throughout their university journey.
