Document: Karadeniz Technical University Horizontal Transfer Directive
Code: KTÜ.YNG.135 Senate: 05.05.2026 No.: 364-6
Supplementary document: Fall and Spring Term Additional Article 1 Implementation Principles
Contains the procedures and principles for horizontal transfer applications based on central placement scores.
Pursuant to Article 20 of the Directive, the ranking score in inter-institutional horizontal transfer applications is determined using the candidate's YKS score and weighted cumulative grade point average on the four-point scale. Grades on the hundred-point scale are converted to the four-point grading scale according to the rules set by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
For undergraduate programs, the ranking score is calculated separately among the candidates applying to each class year. Candidates who meet the application requirements are listed by ranking score; as many primary candidates as the quota and as many alternate candidates as the quota are determined and announced.
Reminder: Because application dates and process information may be updated, candidates should regularly check the official Student Affairs Department Horizontal Transfer page.
