With the opening speeches of Professor Oliver Richmond and Professor Hüseyin Bağcı, the 4th Politics and International Relations Congress has ended.

The 4th Politics and International Relations Congress, held between 1-4 September 2021, ended successfully. The papers were presented by researchers from different countries on many thematic issues such as Covid-19, security, terrorism, ethnic conflicts, regional studies, crisis management, energy security, migration, and the environment in 25 different panels. In the congress, the opening speeches were made by Professor Oliver Richmond from Manchester University and Professor Hüseyin Bağcı from METU. The emphasis on the future of the international system and peace was remarkable. As a classic of the congress series, Dr. Çağdaş Duman has been awarded with the "KTU-Department of International Relations Best Doctoral Dissertation Award" in this year. Dr. Duman’s award was presented in the congress’ opening ceremony for his dissertation titled “Transformative impact of political shocks over violent non-state actors: The case of Lebanon Hezbollah (2005-2020)” under the supervision of Prof. Aydın Ibrahimov and the co-supervision Assoc. Prof. Gökay Özerim from Ege University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of International Relations. Congratulations for his success.
