Karadeniz Technical University adopts an accountability-, transparency-, and ethics-based governance approach to prevent corruption, strengthen institutional integrity, and ensure ethical conduct across all academic and administrative activities. The university’s anti-corruption and integrity system is founded on the principles of legality, fairness, equality, impartiality, transparency, public interest, accountability, and ethical responsibility, which guide decision-making and institutional operations at all levels.
Within this framework, academic and administrative personnel are expected to perform their duties in accordance with ethical principles, avoid conflicts of interest, refrain from favoritism and discrimination, and not misuse their authority for personal benefit. All university personnel are informed about their ethical responsibilities and are required to sign the Public Officials Ethical Contract during their appointment process. In addition, disciplinary procedures are supported through institutional guidelines, standardized forms, and official procedures to ensure fair, transparent, and regulation-compliant implementation across the university.
Karadeniz Technical University also places significant importance on protecting employee rights and promoting participatory governance. Employees are able to submit requests, objections, suggestions, complaints, and applications regarding employment rights, remuneration, administrative procedures, and working conditions through official communication and application channels. The Information Request Unit, the “Write to Us” platform, and other institutional application mechanisms enable stakeholders to communicate directly with the university administration and contribute to institutional improvement processes.
The university continuously monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of its anti-corruption and integrity practices. Policies, procedures, and implementation mechanisms are regularly reviewed based on stakeholder feedback, survey results, quality assurance processes, committee evaluations, internal reviews, and institutional assessment reports. Findings obtained through these monitoring activities are used to update and improve institutional regulations, guidance documents, and governance practices in line with evolving legal requirements and institutional needs.
As a result, anti-corruption measures, ethical governance principles, employee rights protection mechanisms, transparency practices, and accountability systems have been fully integrated into the institutional governance framework of Karadeniz Technical University. The university not only implements its anti-corruption and integrity system effectively but also regularly monitors, evaluates, and continuously improves its practices while ensuring that all relevant policies, procedures, application mechanisms, and supporting documents remain publicly accessible and transparent for all stakeholders.
