Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) develops innovative practices to strengthen gender equality and ensure that students and staff participate in academic life under equal conditions. Within this scope, the university organizes Science Camps for children, particularly during the summer months, providing solutions to the childcare needs of both students and academic/administrative staff.

These Science Camps offer children fun and educational content that enhances their scientific thinking skills, while also creating an enabling environment for parents to participate more comfortably in academic activities or summer research projects. In this way, childcare responsibilities cease to be an obstacle to academic advancement, especially for female academics and students, thereby supporting equal opportunities.
