Karadeniz Technical University has expanded its smart building infrastructure to 360,216 m² in 2025. Considering that the total building floor area of the university is 456,945.90 m², smart buildings now account for 78.9% of the total campus building area.
A total of 15 buildings are included in the smart building system. These buildings integrate at least five smart features, including building automation, fire and security systems, energy monitoring and management, water monitoring, indoor environmental control, LED lighting, and sensor-based lighting. Through centralized monitoring and real-time control, these systems contribute to lower energy consumption, improved operational efficiency, enhanced indoor comfort, and more effective management of campus resources.
