Over the past three academic years (2022–2023, 2023–2024, and 2024–2025), Karadeniz Technical University has consistently strengthened its commitment to sustainability-oriented education and the development of environmentally responsible human capital. Through the integration of sustainability principles into academic curricula, research activities, professional training, and career development processes, the university has continued to prepare graduates for employment in sectors that contribute directly to sustainable development and the green economy.
According to the data provided by the Department of Student Affairs, in the 2022–2023 academic year, 2128 out of 5044 graduates were identified as entering green job sectors. In the 2023–2024 academic year, 2115 out of 4754 graduates were employed in sustainability-related fields, while in the 2024–2025 academic year, 1901 out of 4165 graduates were associated with green job areas.
These green job sectors include fields related to environmental protection, renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, climate action, energy efficiency, natural resource management, sustainable agriculture, green technologies, and other professional areas that support ecological sustainability and responsible economic growth. The increasing number of graduates contributing to these sectors demonstrates KTÜ’s strategic commitment to aligning higher education outcomes with global sustainability goals and labor market transformations.
KTÜ continues to promote sustainability-focused competencies through interdisciplinary education, applied learning opportunities, and research-driven innovation.
