An orientation program was held on September 26 at 10:00 in the Nazım Terzioğlu Amphitheater to support our new students in the Software Development Department as they adapt to university life and to provide them with information about our department and the university.

The program began with a speech by our Department Chair, Prof. Dr. Hacer ÖZYURT. Following this, Dr. Özkan BİNGÖL shared information about research projects that students can participate in both within and outside the institution, emphasizing the importance of engaging in research to support personal development. Afterwards, Dr. Sayyad ALIZADEH provided a detailed explanation of the Erasmus student exchange and internship programs.

As the program continued, Prof. Dr. Özcan ÖZYURT spoke about the university environment, the software industry, and the department?s courses. To introduce club activities, Dr. Işılay BOZKURT addressed the students. Dr. Muammer ALBAYRAK then provided detailed information about the university website and web programming. A presentation prepared to help students adapt more easily to university life and to learn about software early on was delivered by Research Assistant Abdulkadir YILDIZ. Finally, the President of the Software Development Club, Murat Can AKYOL, introduced the club and its activities to the new students.

A preparatory meeting for the Fall Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year was held at our unit on September 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

At the meeting, academic plans and course schedules for the new semester were discussed. Opinions were exchanged on how to make educational processes more efficient, improve quality standards, and create a stronger academic environment for students.

Updating course content in our Software Development Department, increasing hands-on training opportunities, and implementing new projects to encourage students to participate more actively in research and development activities were also on the agenda.

The decisions made at the meeting established a roadmap for a planned, efficient, and high-quality start to the new semester. We wish the new academic year to be beneficial for our students, faculty, and university, and extend our gratitude to our esteemed faculty..

There has been a change in the department head position in our Software Development Department. Prof. Dr. Özcan ÖZYURT has handed over his duties to the new department head, Prof. Dr. Hacer ÖZYURT.

The change aims to further strengthen our department's educational activities, raise academic quality standards, and ensure a successful academic term for our students.

We thank Prof. Dr. Özcan ÖZYURT, who has handed over his position as department head, for his dedicated work and contributions. We wish the new department head, Prof. Dr. Hacer ÖZYURT, every success.
