The Physics Department of Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) held the Physics Department Orientation Program 2026 to support the adaptation of students who joined the department in the 2026–2027 academic year to university and department life.

The program, held on September 25, 2026, in the Small Lecture Hall of the Physics Department, was attended by newly enrolled undergraduate students. The program aimed to familiarize students with the academic and administrative structure of the department, provide information about the processes they may encounter throughout their education, and introduce them to the facilities and resources available within the department.

During the program, Prof. Dr. Tuncay BAYRAM, Head of the Department of Physics, provided students with information about the department’s organization, educational and instructional processes, and the opportunities available to them throughout their studies. Questions and topics of interest raised by the students were also addressed. The academic and administrative staff were introduced, and general information was provided about the research and academic fields of the faculty members serving in the department.

The orientation program continued beyond the lecture hall with a guided tour of the department. Students visited the classrooms and laboratories they will use throughout their education, providing them with an opportunity to become familiar with the department’s infrastructure for practical education and research. During the laboratory visits, students were introduced to the practical aspects of physics education and informed about the working environments and facilities available within the department.

Through the program, the department aimed to help students establish strong communication with the department from the beginning of their academic journey and start their educational experience with greater awareness and familiarity.

The orientation program organized by the KTU Department of Physics provided students with an opportunity not only to become familiar with the department’s academic structure but also to explore firsthand the academic and educational environment in which they will spend their undergraduate years.
