As one of the oldest higher education institutions in the country, Karadeniz Technical University is aware of the increasing involvement of disabled students in the public and hence started a great effort to transform its premises to help such students feel comfortable. These include construction of ramps on all the pavements and staircases on the main campus, and building lifts in departmental buildings with no such facilities. The main thought is to have lifts and ramps for the use of disabled students in most of the buildings.
