IASON+ Project Featured on TRT Trabzon Radio
On June 3rd, 2025, the IASON+ "Invasive Alien Species Observatory and Network Development for the Assessment of Climate Change Impacts and Contextual Ecosystem Services Evaluation in Black Sea Deltaic Protected Areas" Project (BSB00174) was featured on the Marine Culture program of TRT Trabzon Radio. During the broadcast, one of our experts, Prof. Dr. Mehmet AYDIN, from Ordu University, discussed the growing concern of Invasive Alien Species (IAS) in the Black Sea ecosystem.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet AYDIN highlighted the objective of the IASON+ Project, which the Karadeniz Technical University Marine Sciences Faculty spearheads. The project focuses on monitoring the presence and impact of IAS within Protected Areas in the Black Sea ecosystem, particularly their effects on ecosystem services. In addition, the initiative aims to raise awareness among the generaş public and local fishing communities regarding the ecological threats posed by these species.
