KAREN (ISSN 2458-7680; e-ISSN 2458-9705), the publication organ of the Institute of Black Sea Studies is a peer-reviewed journal and has emerged in order to publish original research articles in the sub-fields of social sciences of the Black Sea Basin by meticulously evaluating qualified and original studies in accordance with scientific norms and scientific ethics. Original scientific articles in Turkish and English are published in the Journal of Institute of Black Sea Studies.

The Journal of Institute of Black Sea Studies (KAREN) is a refereed journal that publishes original, national and international research articles about anthropology, archaeology, history, art history, culture, language, literature, musicology, sociology, political science, international relations and architecture of the black sea basin, examining scientific issues and problems in these sub-areas. KAREN is a peer-reviewed journal and is published twice a year, in Summer (June) and Winter (December). The opinions expressed in the published articles are the responsibility of the author(s).
