General Information

Department of lnternational Relations started to give instruction in the academic year of 1994-1995. The departmant is composed of “International Relations”, “Political History” and “International Law” main science branches. Besides Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, the department also offers the following graduate programs: International Relations Masters Program; International Relations Doctorate Program; 100/2000 CoHE Doctoral Scholarship Program on International Security and Terror.

Qualification Awarded

The students who have successfully completed all courses in the programme with 240 ECTS credits and achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are given Bachelor's Degree in International Relations.

Admission & Registration Requirements

1. High school diploma,

2. Obtaining the required grade from Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS)

3. English proficiency (500 from TOEFL / 6 from IELTS)

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Employment opportunities for IR graduates are quite extensive. Graduates work as international relations specialists in the public sector, especially in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of European Union, the Ministry of Economics, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In addition, IR graduates are also employed in the private sector, media, the finance sector and international organizations.
