application and placement procedures for international applicants 2026-2027
Graduate School of Health Sciences
A. GENERAL INFORMATION FOR APPLICATIONS
1. Candidates will apply from the Application System Login tab.
2. No documents will be submitted to the Institute during the application.
3. More than one application cannot be made to the same level graduate programs in different departments of our institute in the same period.
4. Candidates who continue their specialist training within the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey cannot apply to graduate programs.
5. International candidates must have at least 55 points from one of the YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL in the field of Health Sciences, or TIPDİL exams in any of the languages English, French or German other than their native language, or an equivalent score from an exam accepted by the Interuniversity Board.
6. The validity period of YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL and TIPDİL exam results is 5 years from the exam date.
7. Master's degree graduates without thesis cannot apply to doctoral programs.
8. Turkish language certificate is not mandatory for international student applications. However, candidates whose applications are accepted and who are eligible to study at our University must submit TÖMER documents showing their Turkish B2 level during the registration process or pass the placement test to be held by KTÜ TÖMER. Students who do not have a Turkish B2 certificate or who fail the Turkish proficiency exam to be held by KTÜ TÖMER must be successful at end of Turkish course given by KTÜ TÖMER.
9. Candidates who are entitled to registration must have their "DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR FINAL REGISTRATION" ready during registration and have it checked at the Graduate School of Health Sciences.
10. If certified copies of the documents are submitted, there is no need to bring the originals.
11. All documents seen and approved by the Institute staff must then be uploaded separately to the Document Upload System by the candidate in PDF format. If the identity information is verified during upload, the student must initiate the final registration process with the verification code sent to the e-mail address entered into the system.
12. A message saying "your final registration has been completed successfully" will be sent to the e-mail address entered by the student into the system.

C. EVALUATION
1. Success Score for Entry to Master's Programs 2
a) Candidates are ranked according to their undergraduate graduation success score, starting from the highest score, and are entitled to register for the announced quotas.
b) Candidates who apply from the list of reserve candidates for the quotas that have not been registered within the deadline and remain vacant are entitled to registration according to their score ranking.
c) Foreign language exemption and language preparatory class for students who are entitled to final registration;
i. Students who are eligible to enroll in a program but do not have sufficient foreign language scores for course registration take the foreign language exemption exam organized by the University.
ii. Students who are successful in the foreign language exemption exam register for courses. Students who fail this exam enroll in the University's foreign language preparatory class.
ii. Turkish language certificate is not mandatory for international student applications. However, candidates whose applications are accepted and who are eligible to study at our University are required to submit TÖMER documents showing their Turkish B2 level during the registration process or to be successful in the placement test to be held by KTÜ TÖMER.
iv. Students who do not have a Turkish B2 certificate or who fail the Turkish proficiency exam to be held by KTÜ TÖMER must be successful at end of Turkish course given by KTÜ TÖMER.
2. PhD Program Entry Success Score
a) Success score for entering doctoral programs with a master's degree with thesis;
i. 45% of the faculty graduation grade
ii. 40% of the master's degree graduation grade
iii. It is calculated by taking 15% of the interview score (the candidate who does not attend the interview and gets a score below 50 out of 100 is considered unsuccessful).
iv. Those who apply with a master's degree with thesis must have a minimum score of 70 out of 100 to enter the doctoral program.
b) At least 10 (ten) semesters of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary faculties, etc., excluding the preparatory class. Entry success score to doctoral programs for students graduating from faculties;
i. 85% of the faculty graduation grade
ii. It is calculated by taking 15% of the score received from the interview (The candidate who does not attend the interview and gets a score below 50 out of 100 from the interview is considered unsuccessful.)
iii. Candidates who apply in this way must have a minimum score of 70 out of 100 to enter the doctoral program.
c) Entry to doctoral programs with an undergraduate diploma of 8 semesters, excluding the preparatory class; 3
Candidates who will apply to the PhD program with a bachelor's degree (faculty graduates with an 8-semester education period) must have an undergraduate graduation grade point average of at least 3.20 out of 4 (81.33 out of 100).
Calculation of success score;
i. 85% of the faculty graduation grade
ii. It is calculated by taking 15% of the interview score (the candidate who does not attend the interview and gets a score below 50 out of 100 is considered unsuccessful).
iii. Those who apply with a bachelor's degree must have a minimum score of 75 out of 100 to enter the doctoral program.
d) Candidates are ranked according to their success scores, starting from the candidate with the highest score, and are entitled to register for the announced quotas.
e) Candidates who apply from the reserve candidate list for the quotas that have not been registered within the deadline and remain vacant are entitled to registration according to their score ranking.
f) Foreign language exemption and language preparatory class for students who are entitled to final registration;
i. Those who are entitled to final registration to doctoral programs are required to have a foreign language score of at least 60 or above (YDS, ÜDS, KPDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL, TIPDİL or equivalent exams) in order to register for courses.
ii. Students who are eligible to enroll in a program but do not have sufficient foreign language scores for course registration take the foreign language exemption exam organized by the University.
iii. Students who are successful in the foreign language exemption exam register for courses. Students who fail this exam enroll in the University's foreign language preparatory class.
iv. For exemption, exams held by ÖSYM (KPDS, ÜDS, YDS, e-YDS and YÖKDİL) are valid for 5 years from the exam date. In equivalent exams, the validity date on the document is taken as basis.
v. Turkish language certificate is not mandatory for international student applications. However, candidates whose applications are accepted and who are eligible to study at our University are required to submit TÖMER documents showing their Turkish B2 level during the registration process or to be successful in the placement test to be held by KTÜ TÖMER.
vi. Students who do not have a Turkish B2 certificate or who fail the Turkish proficiency exam to be held by KTÜ TÖMER must be successful at end of Turkish course given by KTÜ TÖMER
