As part of the field studies jointly organized by our department faculty member Prof. Dr. Ä°brahim Uysal and LMU researcher Dr. Dirk Müller, who have been conducting joint studies with Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU; Munich, Germany) for many years, 10 LMU students came to Trabzon and visited our department. In addition to our department faculty members Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Åžen and Prof. Dr. Orhan Karslı, Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan University faculty members Prof. Dr. Raif Kandemir and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Demir will accompany the field studies. On the first day of the 12-day event, the regional stratigraphy of Trabzon and its surroundings will be explained to the German students, and in addition to the field studies that will take place afterwards, they will examine thin sections of rocks that outcrop in our region in our department laboratory.
