The Academic and Technological Cooperation Visit to Poland
As part of a visit, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Temel Varol, and our faculty member, who also serves as the Director of KTÜ Medical Device Design and Production Application and Research Center (METAM) , Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aslan, visited the Cracow University of Technology and the AGH University of Krakow in Krakow, as well as the ATO company in Warsaw. During these visits, academic and R&D collaboration activities were carried out.
Accompanied by Dr. Marek Hebda, the research laboratories of the Materials Science Department at Cracow University of Technology were visited, and exemplary applications related to artificial intelligence in materials science were examined. Under the guidance of Dr. Pawe? Rutkowski, the research laboratories of the Ceramics-Refractories Department at AGH University of Krakow were visited, and consultations were held regarding academic and student exchange opportunities. Furthermore, accompanied by Mariusz Le?niak, the production line of the ATO company was also visited, where a presentation was delivered on the technologies employed and the application of artificial intelligence in production optimization. Ultrasonic metal atomization systems were examined on-site, and participation in trial production processes was achieved.
Within the scope of research projects supported by KTÜ The Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit (BAP) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), this visit is expected to yield significant outcomes in terms of facilitating the participation of our academic staff in international research activities, fostering collaborative international projects and publications, enabling researchers from Cracow and AGH universities to contribute as visiting scholars to the R&D activities conducted at our faculty, and enhancing technology transfer. Moreover, the visit is anticipated to make a substantial contribution to our university’s internationalization objectives.
