Prof. Dr. Sema Kuğuoğlu is the Head of the Department of Nursing and a faculty member at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Istanbul Medipol University. A specialist in Pediatric Nursing, Kuğuoğlu has conducted academic research for many years on simulation-based learning approaches in nursing education.

Her main areas of research include the integration of high-fidelity simulation applications into nursing education, the development of simulation scenarios, debriefing methods, and the impact of simulation on clinical competence and patient safety. Kuğuoğlu is one of the academics who has contributed to the widespread adoption of simulation-based nursing education in Turkey and has played an active role in numerous scientific publications, training programs, and academic events in this field.
