Karadeniz Technical University Institute of Forensic Sciences was established with the Council of Ministers' decision numbered 2012/2908, which was published in the Official Gazette on March 23, 2012, with the number 28242. There are three departments within the Institute, namely Science, Social and Medical Sciences. With the decision of the Council of Higher Education's President on March 24, 2021, the "Forensic Sciences Thesis-based Master's Program" has been opened in the Department of Natural Sciences within the Institute of Forensic Sciences.
