Founded in
1985 as the “Directorate of Press Publication and Public Relations” and changed
in 1996 as the “Directorate of Informatics”, the unit of Informatics carries
out the following tasks:
Announcing the scientific, cultural and sports
activities and the developments in the fields of education to public and the
university.
Following the news about our university, YÖK (Higher
Education Board) and other universities, forming a press archive and informing
the Rectorate.
Publishing the bulletin “News from KTU”.
Announcing the scientific meetings, conferences,
panels and symposiums to the local and national press.
Data gathering, writing, editing, publishing and
distributing the publications of KTU.
Sending introductory materials to high schools and
private courses, introducing the campus to new students and guests, joining
exhibitions on behalf of the university.
Publishing orientation booklets that give information
about Trabzon and KTU, arranging and presenting introductory programs, administering and evaluating
questionnaires that reflect students’ expectations from the university for
their future careers.
Organizing the inauguration ceremonies, graduation
ceremonies, anniversary festivals.
Providing materials introducing KTU to academicians
and students who will go abroad for education purposes.
Fulfilling the tasks assigned by the Rectorate.
