As being known, designing of reinforced concrete structure must be done according to the regulations. In this case there are some doubts and complicacies in the right applications of these regulations including new judgments and suggestions.
The basic purpose of this work are to collect the necessary knowledge for designing of a reinforced concrete buildings according to the valid regulations and to obtain some results and suggestions by applying these knowledge to designing of a sixth story reinforced concrete building in region of third degree earthquake zone. For this purpose the prepared work includes three chapters. In the first chapter, the general knowledge in designing of a reinforced concrete building is given. In this chapter general knowledge related to the types of structural systems, structural irregularities, calculations of earthquake, load applied to the buildings and reinforced concrete slabs, beams, shear walls, foundations and staircases is summarizied. In the second chapter, an example reinforced concrete designing of an example reinforced concrete building was done by helping of knowledge and explanations done in the first chapter and the obtained results are given some tables. In third chapter the results and suggestions are given and in the last chapter, references and curriculum vitae of the author are given.This work reveal that in the selection of buildings structural system, especially for vertical structurals arraied the symmetry, plan and discontunity on the height are very important to decrease the reputation of calculations and to provide the condtions of the valid regulations.
