Summary:

      Today, concrete by additional materials and with different strength are produced. These materials were produced and investigated for improvement of concrete mechanical properties. One of them is steel fibers. Many researches have been done about effect of steel fibers on concrete properties. The investigated researches about the behavior of reinforced concrete by steel fibers show the deficiency of this subject.

This experimental research under the title of “The effect of steel fibers on mechanical properties of concrete with different strength” was studied in three sections.

       First section includes definitions, properties of steel fiber reinforced concrete and their behavior. Second section presents the research aims about making concrete samples with different proportion of steel fiber and different water cement ratio and discussion about obtained results. In third section, results, conclusion and some suggestion have summarized. After this section references were attached.

As per the obtained results from this experimental work, adding the steel fiber to concrete can not increase the compressive strength of concrete. But it increases the tensile strength of concrete.

       Due to Turkish standard, for converting the results of indirect tensile test and bending strength test into central tensile strength “K” coefficient is used. by using this coefficient the magnitude of risk is increased.
