Summary:

      Altought so many investigations have been performed on high strenght concrete which have been put into practice for last 30 years and have been becoming widespread with the improvement of technology the qualities of this concrete hasn’t been enlightened as well as these of the traditional concrete yet. Most of the regulations in force is prepeared according to results of the investigations performed on the concretes between 40 MPa and 50 MPa. It is impossible to say that suggested connections in these regulations can be applied as same as high strength concretes. Unfortunately, the informations about the poison’s ratio, shrinkage, the relation between stres-strain, the relation between compression and tension strenght, the fracture mechanism and the state of cracking of high strength concrete are not enough level for today. Likely, there are same points about the traditional concrete that haven’t been enlightened yet.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the compressive strength improvement of traditional and high strenght concrete under varying curing conditions. This study consist of five chapters. First chapter includes general informations and introduction, purpose and extent of the study are introduced, qualities of concretes and pre-performed studies are summarized in this part. Second chapter gives information about the qualities of traditional and high strenght concretes produced according to the purpose of the study, calculations of mixture proportions of these concretes and axial compressive strength experiments on cube samples that are performed on different curing conditions. Third chapter includes the findings and discussions about the experimental research. The results of all these researches are summarized in fourth chapter and this final chapter is followed by the fifth chapter that is references.

      The results showed that the difference of curing temperatures became more effective on strength developments than curing inadequatenesses in water of traditional and high strength concretes that are performed under varying curing conditions.
