      The reinforced concrete systems while transmitting the earthquake loads in safety, is expected to be ductile as well as rigid in order to damp these loads. Although the behaviors of columns, important elements of the reinforced concrete systems, under the vertical loads are convenient, the behaviors of the under horizontal loads are generally not enough. In addition, if a construction doesn’t have enough horizontal displacement rigidity, it will cause big relative displacements under earthquake reactions and this will also cause to happen second order moments in the extremity points of the columns. As is known, concrete is a not strong material in point of fatigue resistance, abrasion resistance, pulling resistance, and toughness capacity. Adding steel fibers inside of unset concrete to heal unsuitable mechanical features of the concrete is one of the most used methods. This study consists of four parts, which was carried out to examine the contribution which steel fiber additions to concrete used in construction of concrete column give to the cyclic horizontal load carrying capacity of column. First section is general information, the second section is about the production of steel fiber added columns according to the aim of the study. Third section consists of the comparison of the results of the experiments which were done on the reinforced concrete columns under the cyclic loads. All of the results and the suggestions about this study are summarized in the fourth section and the reference list follows this. The results of the experiments shows that the steel fiber addition increases importantly the horizontal load carrying capacity of the traditional reinforced concrete columns which are cyclic loaded, and this increase is slightly in the high performance reinforced concrete columns, and it also increases the capacity of displacement in the extremity points of both traditional and high performance reinforced concrete columns.
